You chop one serpent’s head off, another one grows back. But who is the serpent? And why does it grow back? Lee Harker (Maika Monroe) wants to figure out how it works. How life works. How to solve a mystery that’s full of puzzles and patterns. Longlegs is cerebral to its fullest core. Atmospheric, dreadful, devilish, slightly devastating. The twist again isn’t the main reason why this film works. It has more to do with Lee trying to finish her job.
Does she have the will to live in a world that is full of hell? Did she grow up?
