• Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

    ★★★★★

I still stand by everything I said in my two first reviews; furthermore, this has become my favorite film in the franchise and is shaping up to become one of my favorite films as I keep on rewatching it every few months. Because somehow, I find myself in the need of rewatching Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny from time to time.

Spielberg will always be Spielberg, and the magic of his sense of adventure cannot be replicated- but…

  • Aftersun

    Aftersun

    ★★★★½

Liked it considerably more on a rewatch, noticed more details and stuff that make everything even more significant and emotional.

  • Your Name.

    Your Name.

    ★★

Cute original story, not always properly balancing the two main elements of it but still nice. The twists caught me off guard.

The problem is, I definitely don’t like anime. This is the confirmation. I don’t like the animation style, the music or the way the fantastical elements are done.

  • Dances with Wolves

    Dances with Wolves

    ★★★½

A bit too melodramatic and overly sweet for my taste; and definitely too long.

Maybe I shouldn’t have expected it in the first place but I was hoping for an American epic with more action.

Horizon is superior, I need chapter 2 asap.

  • Apollo 13

    Apollo 13

    ★★★★½

I’m so easy to be won over: gimme a good epic American film with Tom Hanks and I’m like CINEMA.

  • Juror #2

    Juror #2

    ★★★★

Very well crafted film, did not expect less from Clint Eastwood, and I absolutely loved it when it became 12 angry men with a twist. Probably Nicholas Hoult’s best performance.

I do feel like overall there’s something missing, even if the central moral debate is phenomenal. Too abrupt ending as well. But we never should’ve stopped making these courtroom dramas.

  • Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones

Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones

    ★★★★★

Obi-Wan Kenobi on a Hitchcockian investigation, a tragic Shakesperian romance between Anakin and Padme, both stories culminating in a Roman arena fight that evolves to the most spectacular battle of the saga, which in proper Star Wars fashion ends with a phenomenal lightsaber fight that sees Count Dooku dispatching Obi-Wan and Anakin because he is simply the most elegant Sith Lord and then fighting Master Yoda.

THE Star Wars epic, Attack of the clones simply rules.

  • A Real Pain

    A Real Pain

    ★★★★★

I’ve always loved Jesse Eisenberg. I love how energetic his acting is and the quirky vibes he brings to his characters. All of that energy is also present in the first of his films as a director I see, and also in the absolutely wonderful script, that definitely stands out as one of the best in recent years.

A real pain is a short but intense emotional journey and reflection about many of the bigger than life questions that we…

  • Babygirl

    Babygirl

    ★★★★★

If I wanna be humiliated I’m gonna pay someone to do it

This is more than just an erotic thriller. Babygirl is an impressive, sharp look from Halina Reijn at sexual pleasure, consent and power through the dynamic of Romy’s desire and the affair she maintains with Samuel.

Carnal pleasure is vital for human beings, and someone as powerful as Romy gets it from being a babygirl in sexual games. She subjects herself some would think, and that would stripped…

  • The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

    ★★★★★

    The literal definition of epic.

My Lord of the Rings rewatch concludes with one of THE films of all time. The way everything comes to an end is absolutely magical. I remembered Frodo & Sam’s parts being way more annoying than what they actually are, and their scenes are pretty well balanced with the rest of the plots.

It’s the battle of Minas Tirith for me. Probably the best battle in cinema history, or at least the most jaw-dropping one. Absolutely…

  • The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

    ★★★★★

Nothing short of a monumental cinematic achievement. I’ve always had a soft spot for the adventurous style of The fellowship of the ring and the grand epic finale of Return of the King, so The Two Towers, that used to fall in no man’s land, may actually be my favorite of them all because it has everything I love from this trilogy, the best of all time and probably my favorite only behind some Star Wars. The first half sees…

  • Dune: Part Two

    Dune: Part Two

    ★★★★½

(Rewatched this few days ago, but some thoughts have been circling my mind that I need to write down)

I still really like this, but I am lowering to 4.5 stars. I’ve had this weird feeling since I first saw it but somehow refused to accept this wasn’t absolutely perfect because of how hyped I was for it and how much I love many aspects of it.

Unfortunately, I do feel like Part One has a grandiosity and epic thing…
