My sixth watch and I'm still so thrilled by it. A beautiful osmosis of a perfect, non-stop propulsive script melding with dynamic, fluid, jaw-dropping animated filmmaking. So rich and colorful, so funny, and so heartfelt; a Miles Morales origin story that features a giant, brickhouse Kingpin, a talking Spider-Pig and multiple Peter Parker's.
Jake Johnson gets the ideal follow-up role after Nick Miller, naturally matching his vibe, while still giving a tremendous voice performance. And Brian Tyree Henry gives an equally impressive voice performance, a layered, touching portrayal of Mile's caring, overly protective father. Those two stand out for me every watch and just get better and better.
To say I'm hyped to see the sequel on Thursday is a severe understatement.
