Happy Christmas everybody! Present opening is about to commence in my house and seeing the kids smile this morning is all I really need, especially after such an amazing movie experience.
This is a movie that moves the spirit. The cast are absolutely tremendous and everyone does a terrific job, from the kid actors to the adults! It’s incredible seeing the standard of acting, I feel as though just like everything, we’ve regressed.
The chemistry between the whole cast is commendable and you can definitely feel the strong will to make a positive happy movie in a time of need, unfortunately at the time it wasn’t what the world needed, but with every fine wine this has aged magically and many of souls couldn’t live without this movie.
To me this represents the meaning of the American working class man, it’s an inspiration and makes you want to get up and at em.
This is my first James Stewart feature and wow I need to take some time and really take a walk down the rabbit hole of James Stewart movies, he exudes a certain charm that I don’t think I’ve seen replicated, his character George Bailey is one of the more compelling characters I’ve discovered this year.
I knew I wanted to watch this classic at some point this season and late last night whilst putting out the presents and the milk & cookies was the perfect opportunity, watched in its original format of black and white I really loved the cinematic excellence on display. It leaves me wondering how the colored version compares and I might try and watch that within the next week.
I’ve got a lot more to say but it’s Christmas time and I don’t want to be writing a review for 30+ minutes so I’ll cut it here:
