"Pink goes good with green."🩷💚
This was absolutely amazing, and I had such a good time. Possibly my favourite movie-going experience in a while. Everything about this movie, from the acting to the choreography, and costumes, was simply outstanding.
Both leads shine equally. Cynthia Erivo is so fucking talented, her vocals are phenomenal, and her performance as Elphaba is powerful and heartbreaking. I felt so sad for the way she was treated and made to be a scapegoat. Ariana Grande is fantastic as Galinda. Obviously we know how well she can sing, and I know she started out as an actress, but her performance in this really surprised me. She was very charming, humorous and brought a lot of vulnerability to the role.
My favourite moment was probably the entirety of the Ozdust Ballroom, it was so tragic, and powerful and moving. There were so many moments like that throughout where I felt like I was going to tear up.
My only gripe is that the movie really should have ended 5 seconds earlier and you will know what I mean if you've seen it.
I'm so excited for Part 2 I just hate the fact it's not for another year😭
