Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 2011
There is not a single image in all of movie history which makes me cry harder than the one of Snape holding Lily’s dead body, while baby Harry cries just behind him, and the violins weep like you’ve never heard before.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 2010
Definitely the most moody vibes in the series, which is weird cause he’s not even in it for very long.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2009
The melodrama really drags this down, and a deeper dive into Voldemort’s past would’ve been a far better use of screen time. I know it’s not always fair to compare a book and its movie adaptation, but for me they totally messed up on which plot lines needed attention. At least what we get of young Voldemort is REALLY well done.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2005
If it wasn’t for the amazing final battle, this wouldn’t be worth watching. While the incessant wining displayed by the main characters is accurate to real life teenagers, it doesn’t make for an entertaining or enjoyable viewing experience. Easily the worst of the saga.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004
You can’t help but lift your arms with Harry whilst that gorgeous, triumphant theme soars like Buckbeak’s flight over the lake. A great movie with an awesome time travel plot and one of the best musical scores ever created.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002
A mixed bag to the least.
The good stuff:
- The introduction of Dobby, Lucius Malfoy, Arthur Weasley and Gilderoy Lockhart
- Worldbuilding like some of the new creatures and a well designed class divide
- Significantly improved acting from the younger cast
- Great CGI and practical effects
The bad stuff:
- Gaping plot holes
- Worldbuilding like some of the new creatures and a poorly thought out class divide
- Too similar to the first installment -

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone 2001
Professor Snape, you can ensnare my senses ;)
… I shouldn’t have said that, I should not have said that. -

Shanghai Express 1932
Pretty good, though I would've loved to see Hui Fei and some of the other characters more fleshed out. A modern tv remake would be totally warranted.
