i'm not a huge fan of this franchise, but i wanted to tap back in before the new one comes out. it's been maybe 15-years since i've watched this one. my trust issues with rollercoasters started here. i wouldn't say that it's a "good movie", but it's one of the better sequels in the series. not a high bar to surpass. the acting isn't great, but we're really only here for the kills anyways. i'm being kind of generous with this rating, but in comparison to the others, it's not that bad. mentioning lincoln and 9/11 was crazy, though. i laughed very hard.
this is one of my favorite horror movies ever. it's so gory, bloody, intense and unhinged. it's what this franchise needed in a reboot/remake, and it does it well. you can keep all of that other corny zany shit in the 80's, where it belongs. anyways, this is such an awesome movie, and it deserves a higher rating on here. it has a few flaws, but it kind of uses them to its advantage. the clichéd characters worked. the clichéd story worked. it all adds up perfectly. shoutout to fede álvarez.
this was underwhelming. i blame the writers for its mediocracy. it's uninspired and formulaic, to the point where it isn't even fun anymore. it has christopher landon's stank all over it. this style of horror-comedy annoys me. it was cute in the 2010's, when horror was having its little rebirth, but this vapid shit isn't working for me in 2025.
to no shock at all, the best kill is spoiled in the trailer, and the killer reveal sucks ass. so,…

i am so mad that i missed out on this movie last year. it's such a good way to start the christmas season. it's funny, emotional and smart. it is also very cozy and sweet, in a way. it blends the three main characters into one plot so well, while still giving each of them their own respective arcs.
the dramatic acting was great, but the comedic aspects hit just…
