Yeah.
Stuck between 4.5 stars and 5 stars.
So stuck between a 9/10 or a 10/10.
Very pleasant change considering as of late most of what I have been watching has been, “do I give this 2 stars or 3 stars.” So I’m happy with this.
Not because it’s insanely shocking (although it sort of is at the same time too and that helps). But the journey Interstellar knocks you through is pretty fucking special.
It’s all great. I love the acting, the movie looks phenomenal, great cinematography, a powerful story with characters I can get behind. Very coherent and well thought out, yeah it has pretty much everything you’d want in a movie.
With that being said, it’s still not my favorite Nolan movie, or at least it isn’t my favorite Nolan movie yet. This is the type of movie you have to digest after watching to truly grasp how much you like it.
This was very great and I would recommend it to anyone really. Especially to people who like Sci-fi movies, which, everyone has their niche and that’s fine, I don’t love Sci-Fi all that much even though I did love Star Wars (I say did because I just can’t anymore with some of this shit, thanks Disney, but that’s another story for another review and another time). It’s not that I dislike Sci-fi movies or anything. They’re just not really my thing honestly.
I just really wonder, I just watched a tense, sad, powerful sci-fi masterpiece directed by Christopher Nolan. Christopher Nolan is a great director, he’s got an amazing Batman trilogy (with a masterpiece within that), he’s got this movie. Oppenheimer was great. How is this the same guy who directed Tenet? I don’t get how? Well anyways. Yeah great movie, I get why some people love this enough for it to be there favorite, I definitely can see why and honestly, I can respect that opinion.
But you mean to tell me that both, this, AND Nightcrawler barely got any nominations at the Oscars that year? Fucking insane.
