I can’t express the feeling I had coming out of the cinema when this was released other than to say I was blown away. And I admit that it doesn’t quite manage to hold the appeal it once had when compared to some modern action films. I think if I was being totally honest and brutal I would lower the rating a tad. However, I still love it despite its flaws. Easily one of the best sequels made and as is the way with Cameron films a visual spectacle that pushed the envelope of special effects at the time.
A very British attempt at an almost gialloesque type film. An unseen, black leather glove wearing, assailant rapes one girl then murders another and one witness saw the killer. That witness is Suzy Kendall’s Julie who a year earlier starred as Julia in “The Bird With The Crystal Plumage”. And as in that film the witness saw the killer but can’t quite get the full picture.

Straight off the bat, if people start saying well it’s no Kubrick or Scorsese etc then I will read no further. It is an Adam Sandler film on Netflix. Does that give it a pass from criticism, of course not but use some perspective.
Sandler once again employs the underdog character with a heart of gold. Hubie is bullied by everyone in town, both adults and children. He has a speech impediment and may not be the sharpest tool in the box…
It will come as no surprise that this sequel is not as good as the original but that does not mean it is a failure.
Set 15 minutes after the ending of the original we now are party to a SWAT type team entering the building with a specialist. None of the characters are overly endearing so, unlike the first, there is no real investment in to their survival.
