denzel carried this film on his back during times i thought maybe the run time was a bit excessive, he'd come in and save some situation with whatever vengeance he had in his mind. no one can hold a candle to that man, and what he brought to this project. it was shakespearean. that's his wheelhouse. every time he flashed that smile, an angel gained its wings. it's hard not to feel captivated by what paul brought to the table, though. overall, i think this was a great sequel packed with action and violence right off the get go. it was certainly far more enjoyable than napoleon, that's for sure. ridley still has that dog in him and we should be so grateful for that.
