Is this the scariest film of the decade? The answer is no but it is still scary but more on the terms of skin crawling anxiety inducing fuel to fear that made me so uncomfortable, so on edge my heart racing and breathing heavy (not because I’m fat) compared to the typical loud jump scare movies
This is much. More of a atmospheric detective thriller that reminded me of work such as Kiyoshi Kurosawas cure and silence of the lambs also seven just with a lot more atmosphere and horror elements and it follows
Longlegs left me so confused and torn after a fantastic marketing campaign. One of the best I’ve seen in years I was expecting a different film to what I got that being said I absolutely loved my time with it. The constant feeling of not knowing what’s coming what’s around the corner really does add to the atmosphere.
I’ve seen some mutuals complain over spoon feeding and too much exposition for me I thought that was fine However I found the movie to go in a direction I expected and I knew where this movie was going so I think some trusting the audience would have sufficed And that sort of did make me feel underwhelmed from the expectations I had
Miaka Monroe was an absolute delight and proves again why she’s one of the best working actresses today she was great in watcher (2022) and It Follows (2014)
Nicolas Cage adds a level of humour to the film with his performance. What is also very creepy such a freak that the comedic level to his performance is also met with a strange fear.
It’s beautifully shot that makes you ooze into the film with the aspect ration changes that are a delight to the eyes, a harrowing score and the sound design throughout was amazing and Osgood Perkins really delivered here so did the cast and what they made is a real nail biting anxiety inducing detective thriller that has left an impact on me. This one will stick with me for some time
