A relentless viewfinder into the past and into the minds that contrived the means for an end-of-world cataclysm. Brilliantly, seamlessly weaves together the events of a 20 year or so span and slowly constructs the pieces to a question that haunts and plagues us to this very day - when is the end? Cillian Murphy’s Oppenheimer demonstrates a vast, emotional understanding of the character he portrays and is able to pull it off with a continuous, subtle brutality that simultaneously manifests and deteriorates as the film rolls along. It’s arguably Nolan’s densest screenplay and his best direction since, well, Tenet, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Will definitely need to give this another watch soon. Gonna go emotionally recover with Barbie now.
