NOT!!!

I'm still processing the sequel that was supposed to never happen. It's evident that it has no interest in any sort of fandom. This is more of a psychological drama with a heaping tablespoon of musical numbers, some of which I appreciated and others that slowed down the momentum. Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga do not disappoint. Nor do the technical aspects. The script however, I'm not sure I liked. I started to grow tired of the prison/courtroom setting. I loved the chemistry between Phoenix and Gaga. All and all this is a ballsy anti-CBM (at least of the ones we usually get) that's sure to piss off many, especially fans of the original. admired the swing. I'm just not sure how much I liked it. Maybe I even loved it. Need to sleep on it.

The friend I saw it with, who loves the original Joker was not a disappointed fan. That's because he loved the choices of music and liked how it was integrated into the story. It also sparked an interesting discussion, which I won't reveal to avoid spoilers. I'm glad he wasn't left disappointed. He actually took off work to see it.
