The SPUMM died as it lived: utterly baffling and probably a money laundering scheme of some kind.

And starring Matthew McConaughey as Cosmo Kramer

Great cast and it looks spectacular but I really can't get behind a movie that essentially shares the same ideology as the billionaires that are currently ruining the planet and want to escape to space to get away from it. No real interrogation just "Earth's fucked!, Anyways time for Space." And that bit of the parent teacher conference had my eyes rolling into the back of my skull. I can't really buy Matt…

It's funny how many people showed up late to this hour long film but to their credit none of them complained. Beautiful looking and sounding it's just one long banger. If your album doesn't have an accompanying anime film can you really call yourselves true musicians?

The extra music videos at the end were a nice touch.

Okay movie I agree that guy was indeed cool enough to have a place named after him but like do you have anything else?

It's fine. Altogether it's nothing too spectacular but nothing really that bad either 🤷‍♀️ Has the vibe of a Netflix anime that's about 10 or so episodes long and then is quickly forgotten. Really the main thing I had on my mind was curiosity at why this in particular didn't get axed I have nothing in particular against it just seems like it was ripe for cancelation.

A lot can change in 3 years lol. Look I still like it I still had a good time but GOOD LORD the VFX are ROUGH. I can only imagine it's from overworking VFX artists as is unfortunately typical in the industry and I feel for them but Goddamn I don't know if I was just blinded by being a fan of superhero movie fan at the time or what but I don't think I've ever seen effects that are…

  • Kneecap

    Kneecap

    ★★★★★

Like that one movie Clint Eastwood made but not evil! As great as Walk Hard was it was unfortunately unable to completely kill the stream of musical biopics but I truly believe Kneecap stands a chance of achieving that goal just because of how open it is and how fucking hard it goes. Insane that the members of Kneecap play themselves and that they do such a great job at giving compelling performances. Michael Fassbender has an insane face.

Huh so that's what being active in your community looks like. God this is really kind of a masterwork. I don't think I can say anything that hasn't been said better in other reviews here but the two non spoiler things I want to say are: maybe the most beautiful looking film I've seen all year. Every scene is kinda perfect? Like the pace is "slow" but it doesn't linger on and it doesn't end too soon. Going to be thinking about that ending forever probably.

  • Clearcut

    Clearcut

Even though it's quite messy and flawed it is kinda amazing to see something this radical that also takes liberals to task and shows at the end of the day who they really end up siding with. Graham Greene is phenomenal.

  • Juror #2

    Juror #2

    ★★★

It's funny that this is kinda like all the bad takes and "theories" people make up for 12 angry men. Nicholas Hoult is incredible in this in how he holds the whole thing together. Great bunch of supporting actors in this as well. It is kinda incredible that Clint is still directing well into his 90s and is making films that are more functional than others directed by people half his age.

Fuck that's going to stay with me forever. What can I even say? I've never seen anything quite like this. It's light-years ahead of like everything both in what it presents and in it's technical aspects. I've never seen a single film that has left me with so many haunting images that will stick to my soul like this. I'm so fucking glad this got preserved and restored, queer art this transgressive is important especially now.

  • Big Hero 6

    Big Hero 6

    ★★★★

Interesting to revisit this ten years on, it's obviously dated in a lot of ways and very flawed but I found it still pretty enjoyable overall. Baymax is perfectly designed 10/10 no notes. As lame as it is to admit Honey Lemon and GoGo were like foundational Yuri for me. The microbots are such a fun gimmick can't possibly imagine how annoying they were to animate though. When the inevitable live action remake secretes from the Disney slop machine do you think they'll make it an MCU movie? In closing why did they make the Aunt so hot?

  • The Box

    The Box

    ★★★

Look I can appreciate trojan horsing your wack ass weirdo freak movie into the Hollywood system under the guise of it being a twilight zone short story adaptation but this just didn't come together for me. It's definitely got some interesting things going on but it's delivered in the most eye roll worthy pretentious explanation that's not really an explanation kinda bullshit that honestly I have no time for. Frank Langella has immaculate presence.
