#1 Film Enjoyer🏳️⚧️’s review published on Letterboxd:
A lot can change in 3 years lol. Look I still like it I still had a good time but GOOD LORD the VFX are ROUGH. I can only imagine it's from overworking VFX artists as is unfortunately typical in the industry and I feel for them but Goddamn I don't know if I was just blinded by being a fan of superhero movie fan at the time or what but I don't think I've ever seen effects that are only 3 years old that have aged that badly. I imagine it's because a majority of the time and effort went towards the Starro effects? We desperately need matte paintings, miniatures and stop motion back in films or y'know treat your artists better so the digital effects don't suck to look at. I like Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn don't get me wrong but honestly the ayer leftovers are just annoying to me. The whole "one foot in the past making you stumble into the future" nature of the DCEU was a big reason why it never went anywhere. Ratcatcher 2 is the best character don't @ me. Yes Starro the conquer can have an army of people at it's command but it's not as fun without a few colorful characters in there (what the first team should've been used for imo). Peter Capaldi is always locked the fuck in huh? James Buddy I hate to say it but if Superman isn't literally the best movie ever made it's jover for you and that entire company so good luck and please don't make it ugly to look at! Unless it's the Rocketeer or Spider-verse I will never rewatch another superhero movie ever again.
