LONGLEGS is easily the best horror film of the year and it left me shook to my core...
I wasn't familiar with Oz Perkins before this but I will have to keep an eye on him because he has all the SAUCE! The atmosphere that he built here is quite unsettling and it built so much dread inside of you the more it goes on. The cinematography also impressed me with some impressive wide shots and tracking shots which I adore especially in horror movies.
Maikra Monroe was excellent in this sort of quiet performance. I was so interested in watching her character solve these clues and I loved how we reacted when she reacted. Nicolas Cage is creepy as hell with the way he talks, moves, and he looks like a menace to society. It's truly one of his best performances yet and the scene with him being interrogated had me closing my eyes. It's slow and evil and gets under your skin and in your head in the worst ways possible, I loved it!
