Locked has proved to be a very divisive film,I loved it! I'm a sucker for a one location set piece...It's gripping! The arguments about the thin line between the good,the bad and the evil pushed this film further than I ever expected. It is slightly more unpredictable than the trailer advertised it to be. Bill Skarsgard is unhinged,Anthony Hopkins voicing gave some slap stick comedic timing.You will not be watching anything that is masterful,however it will keep your eyes peeled,Fun film indeed!
Warfare is not a traditional war film,with all the tropes that you get constantly. That was a positive for myself,being submersed in A24's War/Horror terror for 95 mins brought so much anxiety at times,I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. Ray Mendoza as well as Alex Garland Constructed what I believe is the most realistic Military Film in 20+ years,it generally feels like you're a fly on the wall through the whole runtime. The acting,movements,camera angles,emotions...The battle Sequences are Impeccable. Warfare's Realism will be Implemented into future Films,it's truly a Groundbreaker!
Gosh Damnit,This is a love letter from Ryan Coogler himself. I Paused at a Stop Sign for nearly 10 seconds on the way home from the Theater,Why? I was in Such a Euphoric State! 🔥Sinners is a brilliantly twisted concoction of Religion,Family,Love and Damnit that music....The music in this film gave me the cold chills,This soundtrack straight knocks the Fangs out. Michael B Jordan pulls off these 2 roles (Smoke and Stack) with so much Fluidity,It's a Breath of Fresh…
This is a straight up monumental achievement in filmmaking,watching this in IMAX was completely breathtaking...I've been saying for 2 years now that Timothee Chalamet is the Leonardo DiCaprio of this era,he continues to prove himself again and again at only 28 years old! Austin Butler deserves an Oscar nomination yet again,Elvis has indeed left the building,Zendaya was furious....Every casting was impeccable! The Cinematography,Production design,special effects was Impeccable,This is truly a once in a generation landmark in filmmaking. This was my Empire Strikes back/Lord of the rings and Fury Road in IMAX. Thank you Denis Villeneuve,Sir you have done it yet again!
