I’m glad I watched the original film from 1922.
Robert Eggers’s take on the Nosferatu story is faithful to the original, while implementing a much more captivating set of characters and motivations. I can see why some people will most likely call this movie boring, but if you have seen the original or read the novel it’s based on, you’ll know that the story is inherently slower paced.
I think this movie did add enough to improve the overall pacing…

“It is if everyone dies alone”
Holy fuck man. This movie is just so intelligent and isn’t afraid to challenge those who watch with complicated story threads. Having main characters who are actually smart and have interesting motivations is so nice to see. This is a movie I need to watch 100 times and will still learn more every single viewing.
Also Jake’s face makes him either look 15 or 30 and there’s no in between.
