One of the best rom-coms ever. And it's a musical too.
I didn't expect to love La La Land as much as I did on this re-watch. It's just so damn good. Watching Mia and Sebastian navigate their lives is a truly beautiful thing. Pursuing their dreams, being led away from their dreams, and ultimately coming back to their dreams because of each other. And even though that final scene goes on a little long in my eyes, it got me. What a reunion.
On top of that, it's hilarious, the music is good, the dancing is fantastic, both Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are stellar, and Chazelle's direction is superb. It's practically perfect.
