La La Land: where dreams come true, as long as you can dance through the traffic!
This movie truly tugged my heartstrings. I'm usually a sucker for musicals, but this film completely changed my idea of a musical. Even though the cinematography was very subtle, I felt as though I had entered a different world. The tap dance against the LA skyline was purely magical, and the colors made the experience even more emotional.
This movie was nothing short of pure perfection while managing to redefine the musical genre, elevating it to an entirely new level. Despite the writing being quite subtle, Chazelle has managed to surpass what was expected from this genre. This also proves that Chazelle is truly a master of storytelling.
The ending was truly shocking, but it was a better conclusion compared to Whiplash. In fact, it might be the best ending anyone could possibly give to a movie.
I wish I had more words to describe the brilliance of this film, but no words are enough to truly capture the essence of this City of Stars.
