Dazzling visuals. Superb performances. Magnificent, crowd pleasing songs. What more can you ask for in a musical? Wicked pretty much has it all. Everyone is excellent in this but who knew that Ariana Grande would be this stupendous. She’s hilarious and definitely should be nominated for an Oscar based on her performance of Popular alone. And I had no idea she had such amazing pipes! Jonathan Bailey’s one song is enough to get him Oscar buzz as well. As always, he shows that he’s one of the best (and sexiest) actors around. With In the Heights and now this, director Jon M. Chu proves he can make great musicals and I hope he continues to make many more.
