Russell Hainline’s review published on Letterboxd:
from a business perspective, clearly a huge win. an Event With A Capital E, because it’s got a great cast, the strong source material, and packed houses stuffed to the gills with cheering fans. hard not to feel swept away by the positive vibes of a full movie theater grinning ear to ear for nearly three hours.
still wrestling with their decision to divide this into two movies for a number of reasons, and admittedly I was left pining for the days of Technicolor… but when Cynthia Erivo is running through a field singing The Wizard and I, none of my reservations matter, because I’m bearing witness to *extremely Vin Diesel voice* The Movies.
and if Jonathan Bailey's not the new James Bond, then they completely fumbled the ball.
