Blue Velvet 1986

The first work of Lynch's that I ever watched. An unforgettable film - the career-launching performances, the gorgeous visuals, the ethereal scoring. The In Dreams sequence is one that hasn't left my mind since I first saw it.
Weep not tears of sorrow but of joy for the fact that we inhabited the same world as this wonderful man and can experience his art. Rest in peace David, shine on you crazy diamond.

For a moment, I was concerned about there actually being a decent plot buried somewhere. Thankfully, as the 'Fin' message graced the screen, my worries were quelled.
Went into this expecting a vaguely erotic vampire flick à la Jean Rollin, and it wasn't too far from that - but it lacked anything interesting, both visually and plotwise. I've already forgotten half of the film despite the fact I finished watching it maybe 5 minutes ago. Certainly not one I've any desire to rewatch. But at least the practical effects were okay for the most part.
