Everything about this film is just so beautiful. I was smiling the entire time. I can still feel it in my cheeks. Just writing this review is making me want to smile. Watching this made me feel as soft as Totoro is.
Every frame was a goddamn masterpiece. Is this what I should expect from Ghibli? Not only that but the music was transcendent. I know I already mentioned it, but it deserves to be mentioned twice. The music really made this film what it was and even exceeds Spirited Away in that aspect. It really enhanced the experience by not only setting the tone for the film but also actually syncing up with the actions in the film. I was immersed.
Also nice to see a familiar face in the soot spreaders.
Definitely gonna watch the rest of Miyazaki's works because I think I'm in love.
