But I am shocked at how much praise this is getting???
It could have been a poignant look at contemporary relationships and the dilemma of motherhood millennial women face.
But no. Instead, we watch Julia’s story progress exclusively through her relationships with men. Her usefulness to men. Her willingness to bear children (or not) for men. Her deepest darkest secret—about giving erections to men. Who, by the way, are busy complaining about the ✨inconvenience✨ of sustainability, their useless LP collection, and how sexually degrading women isn’t excused by artistic expression anymore.
