Folklore is my jam. In college, I took several classes on folklore and, if there were actually paying jobs in the field, I likely would have been a folklorist. Instead, it is just a passion.
Oh, and I love movies (obviously), so folk horror is exactly the sort of thing that I have a high interest in.
For me, this three-hour documentary on Folk Horror in film just flew by. I could have watched six hours or nine. It references historical events, famous writers, books, and many, many films--ranging from 1922 silent films to great recent folk horror films (Midsommer, The Witch, The Lighthouse). My watchlist has grown.
If you love folk horror and want an academic look inside the genre, this documentary is for you.
