Anna returns home after spending time in a psychiatric facility following her mother's tragic death and discovers that her mother's former nurse, Rachel, has moved into their house and become engaged to her father. Soon after she learns this shocking news, Anna is visited by her mother's ghost, who warns her that Rachel has evil intentions.

Yes, I realize that this is an American remake of a far superior Korean horror film. Yes, I realize it has its problems and there are many of them. But I also realize that I kinda love this movie anyway and that’s ok. Love me, hate me, seek Amy, I stand behind my 3.5 rating and even question if it shouldn’t be a 4.
The biggest reason I keep returning to this movie is the cast: Emily Browning, Arielle Kebbell, Elizabeth Banks! Now you tell me how I’m not supposed to enjoy a movie featuring those 3 queens?! The terrific atmosphere and beautiful cinematography and locale don’t hurt either. I could have done without the ghost children and I think this would have worked better if they hadn’t been directly shown, but that’s just me.

If not THE, this is at least one of the films that has avoided me since forever. I remember people not being very much into it, so I didn’t pay much attention, but after joining the site, a lot of people seem to like it. First, I had trouble finding it anywhere. And then whenever I did, the link somehow, some way, vanished out of existence.
But finally got around it! A 240p version, mind you, but it was aight!
On its own merit, this was a decent late-00s American remake of a popular Asian film. Not among the best, but somewhere I would say in the midsection.

I have never seen a movie where the score begs you to believe that what you are watching is scary but this is now one.
In the uninvited, a girl returns home from psychiatric hospitalization to find that her deceased mom's nurse is now with her dad. The girl's sister and her begin to investigate whether the new girlfriend murdered their mom and boredom ensues. This is a low budget meh-fest with a promising second act and NOTHING ELSE.
Ignore it like you ignore the impending collapse of modern society and the passive aggressive rants of your loved ones.
