Leaked Conversation between production company Platinum Dunes and producer Michael Bay:
Michael Bay: There’s a worldwide pandemic what should we do?
Studio Executives: Stay at home like everyone else so we don’t spread the virus.
Michael Bay: No no, instead I was thinking we should make a movie out of it set in the near future, and to make it less obvious let’s call it COVID 23!
Studio Executives: Uhh do you really think that’s a good idea, won’t it cause some major backlash?
Michael Bay: Surely not, I’m sure it’s exactly what the world needs right now, it’s perfect timing. Everyone will love it!
Studio Executives: Okay we’re in. You’ve created smash hits such as Transformers, The Rock and Pearl Harbour, how could you…
This film is so bad I bumped all the other films I had at 0.5 stars to 1 star because none of them deserve to be put in the same category as this atrocity.
So with over 700 films watched, this is the only one with half a star...
Adam Mason’s schlocky and opportunistic “Songbird” is billed as the first Hollywood feature to be made during quarantine, and this impressively scaled pandemic-themed riff on “The Purge” couldn’t be prouder of itself for that accomplishment. The project announces its own topicality before the studio company logos have even played out during the opening credits, as snippets of news audio bark at us about the death toll of COVID-23 (a mutated coronavirus that’s evolved to attack brain tissue and kill people within 48 hours of infection), and not a single minute of the slapdash movie that follows allows you to forget that it was conceived, pitched, written, shot, edited, and released since lockdown started in March.
That ultra-accelerated schedule is both…

In 2024, a pandemic ravages the world and its cities. This film centers on a handful of people as they navigate the obstacles currently hindering society: disease, martial law, quarantine, and vigilantes. I ask myself one simple question, and that is why? Why did I watch this. I caught an early screening, and I was excited to be one of the first critics to review it. Seeing the film zapped every bit of energy I had, and I had no willpower left to make a video for YouTube. The only thing keeping this from getting a lower score is the sheer impressive…
I suppose you could get bent out of shape about how tasteless this is. Personally I think it's only mildly tasteless and the real problem is that it's boring and cheap-looking, and seriously padded at 82 minutes. Bonus points though for the absurd motel rendezvous scene.
an actual line from the movie: "Remember the good old days of fake news? The real news is worse!"
another actual line from the movie: "I realize now we weren't delivering packages. We were delivering hope."
also, immune people are called "Munies."
pretty sure that's everything you need to know about this movie.
