The overall quality is definitely better than Eternal, but still, adapting the manga this way in a 1h 30m movie just feels too rushed and a time even repetitive.
That said, the Stars arc is so magical that I was really on board from start to finish.
I also finally got to see THAT Reinako scene in animation so I'm really happy!
Hope Part 2 is even better ❤️✨️
Sailor moon is one of my favourite things in the world so the fact I saw this in a cinema on opening day in Japan is so special 🌙🤍
+ the gays won once again with the haruka + michiru content in this one 🫡😌
this one and part two will be an emotional watch for me since this 2-part film will be the end of the franchise. also, this was the last time i will hear that iconic theme song… well, from the OG series.
compared to the last 2 movies (the Eternal series), this felt better quality in terms of the animation and storyline. the transformation and fight scenes are more intense and emotional and i appreciate that they retained the charm and humour of the OG series. to add, the Sailor Guardians always have the best contemporary outfits. overall, this was a wonderful watch, can’t wait to see part two next! 🌙🩷✨
I have waited SOOO long to see this 💖. Chibi Chibi is so cute. All the sailor scouts and villains are stylish baddies 😍. This was a good build up to a hopefully exciting part 2. I love Sailor Moon and they can continue making movies forever. 🌙 ✨☄️⚡️🪐
Sailor moon will truly never have good pacing and I have come to except that.
As i mentioned when the Eternal movies were released, the main issue is condensing an entire arc in two movies, because it feels very rushed and everything happens too fast and Stars being the best arc of the manga had potential to be explored in at least a 10-episode season in order to give this SM reboot a proper closure. But hey, this was finally adapted as it should have been since the beginning and works as a good setup for the actual ending.

Thank you Netflix for buying and airing this Stateside! Finally they did the Stars Arc justice. While this is mostly a preparation for the long-awaited climax, I think this time they really adapted the manga faithfully, especially the showcase of The Starlights and Galaxia. I get that many may feel the runtime somehow rushes the plot, but hey at least we got back Moonlight Densetsu. Now onto Part 2 (kinda wish they just combined this into 3-hour single film though, but I understand that’s how they made money).
