-Asshole who thinks he has authority over strangersThere's a very loose narrative at hand in the film that is just really an excuse to put Johnny Knoxville and 9 year old Jackson Nicoll in situations to shock unsuspecting strangers. Perhaps not for everyone, but I found this shit to be hilarious! I like Knoxville in small doses, and his old grandpa schtick works, but it's Nicoll who is the real star of the film.
He has great comedic timing when working with strangers and I just couldn't get enough of that. He also has a weird comedic chemistry with Knoxville. While the kid pretty much owns the film, Knoxville does have one of…

This was way better than I was expecting. The old man bits were by far my favorite part of JackAss, so I wanted to watch this. I was very skeptical how they would fill an entire movie with that one character, but it actually works pretty well.

look i'm not saying there isn't funny stuff here, but the manufactured plot is just tiresome, and this isn't doing anything BORAT didn't already do except point out that people are apparently pretty helpful and tolerant with strangers (especially the elderly) even when they probably shouldn't be. Knoxville is rarely in any real jeopardy that an apology and a release form couldn't solve, and if you ran across the best bits on youtube you'd be bummed to find out they were faked.
