The plot of this movie unbeatable: an evil company town that manufactures Halloween novelties that is full of evil Irish people and their robot goons working for an evil Irish wizard who wants to turn every American child's head into a writhing mass of insects and snakes using the power of TV commercials and a stolen piece of Stonehenge.
This movie is in the conversation with 'Patriot Games' and every movie ever made about British royalty as the most anti-Irish film of all time.

Halloween 3:
Toy manufacturer creates masks that kill children when an annoying commercial plays a jingle which triggers the mask to crush their heads and release bugs and snakes. The manufacturer also has coins that create lightsabers to instantly kill adults.

I am pretty sure the pitch to get the third movie made is "What if we drop Michael Myers and just go fucking wild" to which I appreciated because this chaotic mess was really fun.

McDonald's Happy Meal Version of 'The Wicker Man': Mass-produced, induced-demand, consumer-driven, standardized, repeatable, profitable. The 1980's Reagan/Thatcher Era transformed Seasonal Ritualized Mass Sacrifice into a slick corporate entity delivering The Good Times And Good News to All The Children Everywhere! Benevolent weather patterns and bountiful crop yield became positive quarterly projections, reaped bonus dividends, and investor satiation. Ultimately, does it matter which gods we are being sacrificed to without ever knowing their names? Those names change. The appetites of which the names are but a key to the mouth of the throne only grow. That said, Burger King or the aforementioned really missed out on a tie-in with the Silver Shamrock Co. in Autumn 1982!!!

Corporate witchery. Small-town idyllic life bought out, and industrial employment carried in from the Big City. Death is prepped and prepared for existence, and for no other reason than that. Tommy Lee Wallace strips down the Carpenter Template to a rough, electronic wound - bleeding synths from all edges and oozing a sinister property not yet discovered. Even the exposition is meaningless, as the narrative is set-dressing for the final moment - every channel the same message, the same tune, and Carpenter's artistry is now an accomplice of branding. Our demise is self-imposed - how can we stop it when we let it happen?

Fun revisit after a couple of decades. Might be my favorite Halloween. Saw this on Halloween night at the Watchung, NJ Blue Star triplex in 1982. I remember it being sold out and the audience loving it. Confused but loving it.
Watched the Scream Factory Blu-ray which has a gorgeous remaster.

It was super cool and breezy for a late summer day so I was just in the mood.
Honestly, I could care less about Michael Myers not appearing in this movie (besides on a tv screen) and that’s never been cause for me to judge or overly obsess over Halloween III—I love Season of the Witch on its own merits... the mood, visuals, sleepy town vibe, cast, Tommy Lee Wallace’s direction, and John Carpenter’s soundtrack. Oh yeah, and the ‘let’s kill all the children!’ plot is aces. Paranoia horror thrills via the Trojan horse holiday—I love it.
Perfect way to end an overlong work day.
