The scene where the hillbilly licks a photograph of a naked woman in his issue of HUSTLER magazine ("do u like that? i know u do" sorry bud she's not real she doesn't feel anything because she's a piece of paper) then starts talking to the mannequin he fucks ( also not real human woman if u were curious) is literally how i see all men

What's memorable about this reboot/re-imagining is that it gets to the goods right away and sustains the energy throughout. There's roughly twenty-five minutes of goofy banter and vicious forest slaughter before the Friday the 13th title-card even appears, and then afterwards it essentially starts all over with a different set of college kids. That's how you make one of these. Full of dumbass characters, idiotic dialogue (any line from Trent is absolute gold), a cool lake house location, and Derek Mears going full-movie-monster with his portrayal of Jason. From his tunnel system to his weed farm and his stone sharpening wheel for his machete, not to mention all the temper tantrums, this movie fully embraces Jason's cult iconography. The…
i have a headcanon that jason smokes pot in his spare time and nothing can disprove that so i love it
I had never seen the remake so it was the first film I watched from the the amazing new Friday the 13th box set from Scream Factory. I was pleasantly surprised. This remake is definitely not toned down in any way. Has all the sex and violence one looks for in these films. Quite brutal actually. And it looks great. Shot by Daniel Pearl who shot an incredible amount of iconic music videos.
