the worst movie I’ve seen all year, I will be first in line to the premiere of Fast 11 and 12
It was fun when Kurt Russell showed up as Mr. Nobody in 7 but since then everything with “the agency” and their secret bases and sci-fi technology has become the worst part of every movie. Get them out of here.
This movie rips but I don’t think Dom should be allowed to have custody of that child
Why is there a Debby Ryan and Josh Dun cameo in this?
Why is there a Pete Davidson cameo?
Why is this edited so tightly that the jokes have absolutely no breathing room?
Why are so few of the set pieces actually centred around cars?
Why is Michelle Rodriguez given nothing to do after the first hour?
Why does Brie Larson look like she’s being held at gunpoint?
Why does Han trip on a drugged muffin for like 30 seconds and then just forget about it?
Why is Jason Momoa the only one having fun?
How does a film with a $350 million budget look this bad?
How did this series veer so far away from cute little car hijinks?
Why, despite hating this, do I know I’ll be back for more?
Makes no sense. But not in the right way these movies are supposed to make no sense? If that makes sense? Never good when a theatrical release feels like you hit “play all deleted scenes” on a DVD. Also never good when you know the elevator pitch began “imagine Infinity War with Heath Ledger’s Joker,” before going on to describe only the shitty elements of both.
Hundreds of things in this movie made no sense (in the bad way) so it seems silly to single one out, but– does anybody at all understand that moment where Roman throws powder (?) into the air. I polled the people I saw it with and got a unanimous “no.” Does that choice make narrative or comedic or structural or characteristic or stylistic sense to even one person

cannot stop thinking about dame helen mirren’s delivery of the stupendous line “well it ain’t no roman holiday” these movies make me squirm in my theater seat with pure joy and disbelief. holy shit. can’t believe we’re in the fucking avengers era of the fast series. this gargantuan beast is literally just a bunch of things haphazardly hot glued together, but i had a fuckin’ blast. it’s not good, but man is it fun
