cruella de vil: wears INTENSELY dramatic monochrome lewks, hates men, can’t drive
me: hello? HELLO??
Why Glenn Close should have won an Oscar for her brilliant turn as Cruella De Vil:
You may forget what happened in this film, but there is one thing you will never forget: Glenn Close's performance. Close uses a menacing laugh, over-the-top line delivery, and a fiery demeanor to bring Cruella's genuine, cruel nature to life in a dramatically subversive way. Her ferocity in front of the camera makes her character obtrusive, self-absorbed, arrogant, delightfully nasty, and yet incredibly hilarious at the same time. She achingly conveys her portrayal with a simmering rage while simultaneously spinning comedic gold into her role, allowing her to become the terrifying fashion icon that is Cruella De Vil.
Remaking a talking dog cartoon as a part romcom💘/part Home Alone knock off🏚️ with absolutely NO talking dogs should not work🙅♀️. And yet…
Glenn Close😈 & Puppies🐶!
That’s all I need to love a movie, apparently.🤷♀️
Also, I have a soft spot for love stories between Americans🇺🇸 & Brits🇬🇧. Not sure why but I can’t resist them.☺️
Lots of goofy fun so 4 stars it is.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Gay people love Cruella De Vil as much as white people love Starbucks
Film Cult first pick
If you want to watch 1.75 hours of dogs barking and Glenn Close evil laughing - then this movie is for you! It comes as no surprise that this live-action remake is worse than the animated version (shocker!). Obviously, the best thing about the film is Glenn Close as Cruella DeVille. She owns the role and is very convincing as the infamous fashion icon and puppy killer. Overall does not hold up. Thanks, Logan for making everyone watch this one. Won't be rewatching this again ever.
P.S. False advertising - it's only 17 dalmatians, not 101.
Heavy nostalgia attached to this one. Quite refreshing to see highly trained animals rock the film instead of CGI. If there is something it holds objectively well it has to be it’s way of capturing snowy pastures and a festive cold. Or is it just me?
Glenn Close and some insane Home Alone-esque slapstick are the only two reasons to watch this puppy
🐩🧛🏻♀️🧥🏴
More good women have been lost to marriage than to war, famine, disease and disaster. You have talent, darling. Don't squander it. Glenn Close is mother; besides wanting to kill puppies, Cruella is the most relatable character in this film. Jeff Daniels and Joely Richardson do a serviceable job but are relatively boring. Dr. House and Mr. Weasley’s physical comedy is fun, even if it isn’t anything to call home about. I hate Whizzer, all the other animal actors are adorable. This film is a competent adaptation of the original and blows modern Disney live-action adaptations out of the water.
