Kamala would not be the most awkward person in the room if I were present. I’d do something dumb like compliment Carol and Monica on their nice shorts.
Giving this the same rating as Captain Marvel, but I think I had more fun with this entry. These three leads were fun to watch together as they shared some nice chemistry working out their powers being entangled. I wish the movie spent more time developing the bond between them. Everything with the Kree, Skrulls and Dar-Benn I found to be lacklustre. I wouldn’t care one bit if the Kree and Skrulls vanished from the MCU cause I find them to be incredibly boring. Dar-Benn was also quite the poor villain, very one-note and forgettable. What I think this movie will be remembered for most, for better and worse, are the great cameos. I stayed away from any of the marketing I could avoid and for good measure because they managed to surprise me, two of them especially.
Just when I start feeling my interest truly begin to wane in the MCU, here they are trying to pull me back. Well, I’m interested but we’ll see if they can deliver.
