Wasn’t a total surprise seeing where this went after the opening and I wasn’t all that into it. That is until the finale. I found the ending very satisfying and it had me completely engaged whereas the rest of the movie beforehand did not. Quite honestly saved the movie for me. The main part I did not warm to was pretty much everything with Corey. Everything they did with him felt too contrived and things turned predictable. As well, his relationship with Allyson I thought was very poorly developed, especially considering this takes place present day.
While I think this was better than Kills, it’s a shame there’s a lot to get through before I was liking what was onscreen. Surprisingly wasn’t much focus on Michael Myers, but when he does come out it’s great. The old man’s still got it. I’m fine with what they did with Laurie. All of us can only hope we’re as strong as her when we’re senior citizens.
