Is it cheesy and predictable as hell? Yes. But is it gay? Also yes.
The music choices were solid and the sapphic storyline was cute. I don’t mind a cheesy horror so it was a decent enough watch but the plot holes and the predictability left me unbothered by the killer and only interested in the sister bonding side of it.

I so often hate films that tell the stories of real crimes but I felt this film did so brilliantly.
It was a great commentary on how women’s safety (especially at the time) is put in the hands of men, and how they continuously fail to protect women (even at times when it’s their literal job to do so) and hold other men accountable for their actions.
I also appreciated there was no extreme violence to get the point across,…

I have watched this likely around the 100 times mark: yes it is a comfort watch, yes I know all the words, yes it is a work of art and that is not up for debate- put The Bellas in a museum.

Absolutely ridiculous but in a way I enjoyed. The plot is utterly unbelievable, and some characters are so morally corrupt you can’t help but hate them, but I found myself laughing so much.
Straight folk get so many unhinged films like this that it was a breath of fresh air for queer women to get one too. It’s very much like the road trip films we got in the early 2000s that were so absurd you’re still processing them a decade later.
What the f did I watch? I’m not sure. But I enjoyed the ride.
