revisiting this film tonight made me realize how stupid i was thinking that this was a mid film on my first watch long time ago when it is in fact a goddamn masterpiece film. la la land had everything when it comes to a very well written script, amazing choreography, fantastic cinematography, phenomenal directing, beautiful colours, melodious score and terrific performances. starting the film with that goddamn opening scene? oh i was mesmerized like i had goosebumps all over and it almost made cry on how beautifully made that opening scene was. the performances of ryan gosling and emma stone was absolutely compelling like i loved how they both nailed the dancing and singing stuff along with the heavy actings like woah? damien chazelle is literally the goat when it comes to writing and directing a film like he never fucking misses, whew. the score and soundtrack was also absolutely fucking phenomenal.
