Damn this movie. Carey Mulligans acting performance is great. And the cinematography really pops with the bubbly pastels contrasting with the darker tones of the film. But for me the biggest highlight is the casting. The choice to cast comedic actors in all of the antagonistic roles is genius. We associate these actors with being adorkable and we don’t expect them to be anything but that. We trust them. Though, at the end of the film, not a single one of them comes out clean. The perfect way to portray the nice guy tm.

a documentary that uses the figure of the witch in history and notably in cinema history to examine female madness (depression, psychosis) as it pertains to pregnancy, post partum and the social stigma that follows when you are unable to live up to the idea of the perfect mother. When you are afraid you might hurt your child. When you become the witch.
