An elegy tinted in blue. Not a symbolic blue, but an ambigous blue. To see blue is to feel blue is to be blue, I guess.

Dancer in the Dark 2000
his isn't the last song / There is no violin / The choir is quiet / And no one takes a spin
Watching the genuine reactions of the actors during Selma's next to last song just breaks me. And I will not elaborate. Afterwards there is only silence.

The Stimming Pool 2024
This feels different. In a way it's abnormal. But what is this "normal" all about. The Stimming Pool does not try to find the answer, but in a sense manages to achieve a fresh perception of an outsider experience. Neurodiversity is given a language through a mishmash of fantasy sequences and behind-the-scenes conversations.
The "autistic" aspect is fine, but this film really flows when it comes to finding an alternate narrative mode. This is neither an apology nor a celebration; it is simply a perceptive insight.
