Smile 2 builds on the supernatural horror of its predecessor, focusing on Skye Riley, a pop star tormented by a curse that forces her to confront her deepest traumas. The film explores themes of guilt, fame, and mental health as Skye, played by Naomi Scott, struggles to escape the sinister “Smile Entity.” Known for intense jump scares and a chilling atmosphere, Smile 2 shifts toward psychological horror, using Skye’s fame to critique societal pressures and inner fears.
The climax is particularly shocking, with Skye’s violent onstage death spreading the curse to thousands of fans, suggesting the possibility of a widespread epidemic. The film’s haunting, open-ended conclusion sets the stage for a possible third installment while delivering a chilling commentary on the horrors of fame and internal demons.
Throughout the film, I felt chills running through my body. Naomi gave a phenomenal performance 👏🏾 She deserves all of the praise and whatever she can get nominated for, She's very energetic and reminds me of Florence Pugh.
Also, the film leaves the door open for another sequel wonder how their gonna be able to do it next time? I will say, it’s worth the watch!
