When I was a kid, I’d see Evil Dead II on the shelf in the video store every week. I wasn’t allowed to rent it, so I’d just stand there in the aisle and stare at the skeleton guy on the cover of the VHS. He had bizarrely human eyes. Was he smiling? A movie about motherhood written by two dudes, in which everyone lives in the largest house you’ve ever seen and drives sports cars and quits their jobs with no financial or professional repercussions.
