Generally, biopics don’t do all that much for me. They tend to play it safe, and try to make the film a history lesson. I think A Complete Unknown definitely falls into this at times. James Mangold is definitely a competent director who does a fine enough job here, but for such an enigma as Bob Dylan was (and still is), you’d hope to portray some of his personality in the filmmaking. This was so sick. Quite easily my favourite Batman movie. I did not think I’d be saying this but there really isn’t a whole lot preventing this from being a 5. Though I’d be hesitant to call this a masterpiece, I simply don’t have any real flaws with the movie.
