In a nutshell - great (but flawed) fun. I wasn't entirely convinced by Tom Hardy's Max. He pretty much looks the part, but something didn't quite click. He didn't have the 'air of menace' that Gibson exudes. And sort out the accent Tom. Considering the minimal dialogue, he managed to waver all over the place with it. Tom Hardy's a good little actor, but some of his voice work is leaving a bit to be desired (proving that as with Dark Knight Rises, he might need a little more direction on that front). I had no problem with Charlize Theron's Furiosa eating up screen time. One of the film's big plus points, and an equal to Max. Yes, it was nice to see the old school stunt work being so omnipresent, but it had more cg than I was expecting. To be fair, most of it was pretty good, but as with even the most expensive, lavish blockbuster, it did have it's share of dodgy green screen moments. Some of the earlier large crowd sequence looked a little off kilter to. Better work on that front is being done on Game of Thrones for goodness sakes! The storm set piece was extremely well realised though... The vehicular mayhem was fantastic, and it's more than a shame that it didn't have a story to match. This was one of my initial fears on seeing the trailers - that it would be a two hour car chase. Never any less than hugely entertaining, but I prefer more meat on a screenplay... The whole tone definitely had Miller's stamp all over it - very weird, wonderful and completely out there...
