One of the cosiest and most romantic films. Rob Reiner directs this like a more modern Billy Wilder — it’s such a coincidence I watched this after The Apartment as the endings are pretty similar, it has to have been an intentional influence. Reiner just has a knack for making accessible, mainstream films that have something to say.

Billy Wilder really was the king of screenwriting — every small line or joke has a satisfying pay-off, even if it’s an hour after it was set-up and his characters always feel like real, flawed people while still maintaining a level of like-ability. Those office sets were outstanding.

I will admit - despite being a fan of some musicals - I’ve never really listened to Hamilton or even knew much about it... so most of this was a new experience and it’s actually good.
The performances are really brilliant and the music, mainly in act one is perfect. However, the storyline is quite hard to follow at times - maybe because I have no background knowledge of the true story.
Despite that though, it’s a fun enough musical.

Twin Peaks: The Return is an emotional, hilarious, surreal and touching "conclusion" to the Twin Peaks Franchise.
One thing that is evident from Part 1 is; this is not going to be like the original Twin Peaks. It's tonally different, slower paced and much darker. Mostly everything has changed; the world is not the way it was 25 years ago and neither are these characters and their lives.
