It was on the edge of 5 stars the whole time and then the last 10 minutes punched me in the gut. We got Suspiria Luca back again. A total out of body experience and something I’m gonna be carrying around with me for a while. I knew I’d like it but I wasn’t expecting it to maybe be in there as my new favourite work from him?

Inspirational stuff. Something completely different from any “virtual world” documentary you’ve seen before. I’m so excited for this to inspire so many more feature films made entirely within sandbox games. Q&A with one of the actors/writers/producers who said they almost got Mark Rylance but he got scared of GTA’s violence. Priceless stuff.

Listen. There’s AI all over this in the cutaways and “we’ll be right back” network messages. For this reason I can’t enjoy the amazing performances and clever ending. It actually feels insulting when that skeleton message shows up repeatedly, like the filmmakers don’t give a shit and want to let you know that you’ll accept blatant AI in your 70s period piece. Don’t let this be the start of accepting this shit in your entertainment.
