    I’m not big on documentaries but Herzog’s documentaries are always absolutely on point and so beautiful. He has certainly impressed me the most out of all the directors whose films I’ve seen. His love for people and the world and his flawless style of mixing reality, humanity, and beauty is pretty much unmatched.
    Happy People is no different. It’s just a great doc and has so much to offer in its storytelling and cinematography. Highly recommend this.

    Man, after just two watches I find myself really loving this movie. Ashley Judd and Michael Shannon are…breathtaking here. They act so well, especially Judd, that they’re almost believable as real people in this really devastating situation. 

    I’ve always really appreciated simple plots. This utilizes about five characters for the whole movie and yet a whole plot is weaved around just those few people. And on top of that, it’s almost all set in one location. I have huge respect…

    I, along with many others, have praised Pixar for their ability to make children's movies that don’t feel strictly like children's movies. Adults can usually always take something away from them.
    However, as the years drag on, they’ve gotten lazy. They’ve traded good and meaningful stories for loud, abrasive, and much weaker plotted movies.

    Man I really hate that I didn’t like this more but frankly I’m a bit disappointed. 
    My main disappointment comes from the use of goofy live action in a bad ass stop motion film. It just wasn’t needed and looked bad compared to the animation. 

    I also wish the plot had been a little more obvious; I think it had something to do with the creation of the earth and humankind or some shit but I dunno.
