ahh this movie is so good, so cute, and so emotional! love it. this is the only one i’ve seen of the trilogy so i’m so excited to watch the rest before the live-action comes out

wow, another 2000s slasher that i am now obsessed with. that opening scene alone was so incredible and immediately pulled me in when “I Got You” started playing. they do such a great job making that scene actually feel like it is pulled out of a slasher film from the 1980s. Molly Ringwald was such a pleasant surprise, i didn’t know she was even in this movie until watching. she was SO good, the sassy, cunty role was absolutely perfect for…

the whole trajectory of my life has changed after this. i knew NOTHING about the wicked story/lore, so i went in blindly and wow, it’s such a beautiful story with so many hidden meanings. the music is absolutely fantastical, and Ariana shines so bright as Galinda, who i am forever proud of as a long time fan since before her debut album. Galinda/Ari’s entrance in the bubble at the very beginning gave me absolute GOOSEBUMPS, that was so damn perfect.…

    Sinners

    ★★½

this is one of the most overrated movies, i do not understand the hype at all. i liked the cinematography, the acting was okay, and it was an interesting take on the vampire genre. i loved Hailee Steinfeld in this and she was the best part for me. i loved the post credit scene a lot and wish more of the movie was set in that time period. i was disappointed because i wasn’t expecting so much exposition, i expected…

entertaining and has its intense moments but this is literally one of the most far fetched movies i have EVER seen. everything is so unrealistic and silly.

    Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed

    ★★★★★

it’s unusual that a sequel is as good as the first, but in Ginger Snaps II’s case, it is superior, just by a pinch. i have gone more in depth in previous reviews so i won’t make this as long but this entry takes everything so great from the first but also does its own thing and leads the series into a new direction, something so unpredictable and what most sequels fail at.

Dreamworks is my absolute favorite recently. the new animation style is gorgeous and so vibrant. with underlying themes of kindness and just being able to say “i love you” to people that matter most in your life, the story is so beautiful. this is the best animated film of the year, possibly even in awhile. i cried so many times and walked out with a melted heart. go see it if you’re able to.

    ★★

in my honest opinion, this movie has been way overhyped. the style and aesthetic is really cool, as well as the talk show format they used for it, but i left the theater a little disappointed.

“want a drag? it’s cotton candyyyyy” SO 2019

i would be lying if i said i didn’t have a great time with this. i think i mainly enjoyed the beginning but once everything unraveled it got a bit too weird. ending was also kind of meh. Octavia was amazing as Ma.

  • Orphan: First Kill

    Orphan: First Kill

    ★★★

Esther smoking a cigarette and driving as “Maniac” plays is truly cinema. despite the movie being a bit too far-fetched at times, it’s still so entertaining, especially Julia Stiles, she is PHENOMENAL in this movie.

  • MaXXXine

    MaXXXine

    ★★½

maxxxine brilliantly captures the style of the 80s and i like that it’s a love letter to the the Giallo films. without spoiling, i am happy that they explained more about maxine’s past and didn’t just leave us hanging. the first half hour is decent but falls flat in the middle for me. they spend too long focusing on the night stalker when they could have put that screen time towards actually developing the story better, especially that third act…
