Task Completed.
I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed that The Wild Robot was premiering in my state, knowing it doesn’t release worldwide later on in the month. But hey, it’s a Sunday, and I thought I might as well take the trip and what’s best, but bring along my dear mum.
2024’s The Wild Robot is a joy through narrative, cast, and, of course, animation. A movie that should be shown to all kids, as it shares some great learning points that little ones will take an interest in knowing about the food chain, migration, and the embrace of family and community. While it is a family movie, this is in no way just a children’s film. Its themes and messages are rich with maturity that sent both my mum and I, as well as the viewers behind, in tears and sniffles.
I can’t say for the rest of the world, as I’m unclear on international holiday dates. But for the Australians out there, watch this in the school holidays when it has a wide release. Watch it with your kids, and if you don’t have kids, bring a parent.
