good movie but i’m disappointed. i had extremely high expectations knowing that All Quiet on the Western Front is one of my favourite books (and probably my favourite of all), but well… i think that the movie wasn’t as heartbreaking and horrifying as the book. i did not find that profound feeling of melancholia, stolen childhood — like in the books scene, that they did not put in the movie, which was clearly the most gut-wrenching thing i ever read. …
